Title: trialkyl orthoformate - acidic way
Post by: bmorvan on August 17, 2010, 05:10:12 AM
The current method to produce trialkyl orthoformate is chloroform with metal alkoxide.
Because of the reactivity of functions on the alcohol towards bases,
I can use only an acidic way:
chloroform and alcohol. How can I  catalyse the reaction ?
thanks
