can someone tell me if these are correct

the reaction    PhCH3 + Br2 / CCl4

my answer      benzyl bromide


the reaction    PhCH2CH2C(=O)CH3 + Zn(Hg) / conc. HCl

my answer      n-butylbenzene

for the first reaction the reagent to be added is NBS/CCL₄ for the desired product. With Br₂/CCl₄ I'm afraid the reaction is not that feasible.Your second reaction as per my knowledge is correct.

I agree NBS is better, and as it is a radical reaction, hv should be present

Br₂ will still work, maybe not as well or selectively.  And it too can be a radical.
