solubility problem
« on: July 14, 2010, 05:09:46 PM »
Hi,

I have a solubility problem and I am given the Ionic strength of the solution, Ksp and activity coefficients....
i am stumped on how to set up the problem though..
I understand how to solve for solubility when I have just the Ksp value...
I know that the iconic strength of solution and activity coefficients will play a part in my final answer... but I don't know what to do with them!

help ???

http://www.lenntech.com/calculators/activity/activity-coefficient.htm

Note, in this case (in this link), since a hydrolysis of CO32- and solubility of Ca(HCO3)2 the result will be still crude
