Help Designing Batch Reactor
« on: November 27, 2012, 04:56:36 PM »
Hi guys, I am currently a systems engineering undergrad, but i was given the project to create a batch reactor with ultrasonication to extract coffee oil from waste coffee beans. In my degree plan i just took chemistry 1 so i have a basic knowledge in chemistry but not a lot in batch reactor design. I am not asking for complete diagrams or for  any of you guys to do my project, but any help i could receive from people that have actually done something like this will be extremely appreciated.

my project guideline says it is a two-phase oil extraction. and it includes the use of 150ml of methanol and 150ml of hexane. the ultrasonication was used to speed up substantially the speed of extraction

thanks in advance

Why don't you post your design and we can critique it for you?
