ascorbic acid-Na ascorbate color
« on: July 31, 2012, 01:39:02 AM »
Sodium ascorbate has a brownish-yellow color and ascorbic acid is white. Could this be due to some contamination of Na ascorbate bottle? May I have this explained? Thanks.

How old is it?
I would say it should be colourless (white).
Buy a new bottle or re-crystalise the material you have.
Development Chemists do it on Scale, Research Chemists just do it!
