Chemical reaction & balancing??
Dan:
Cirtic acid: H2C(COOH)C(OH)(COOH)CH2(COOH)
Now, think about the reaction between HCOOH and NaOH....
What could happen if you have more COOH groups?
AWK:
H3C6H5O7 + NaOH = NaH2C6H5O7 + H2O
NaH2C6H5O7 + NaOH = Na2HC6H5O7 + H2O
Na2HC6H5O7 + NaOH = Na3C6H5O7 + H2O
or
H3C6H5O7 + NaOH = NaH2C6H5O7 + H2O
H3C6H5O7 + 2NaOH = Na2HC6H5O7 + 2H2O
H3C6H5O7 + 3NaOH = Na3C6H5O7 + 3H2O
Dan:
And there I was trying to give hints instead of giving away the answer...
searly:
yeah thanks AWK.... Dan thanx neway but i'm not really the best chemistry person.. i didn't really get what you were talking about thanx anyway
