500pmols/µl = 500µM???
« on: July 08, 2005, 05:01:44 PM »
Silly question here  :1eye: . I can not figure out how they get:

500pmols/µl = 500µM

My calculation shows this:

(500pmols/10^6)/1ul=5*10^-4uM. This means it should be 5*10^-4uM and not 500µM according to this formula: umol/ul=uM.

Hope for any inputs ASAP.

Thank you.

pmol = 10-12 mol

µL = 10-6 L

pmol/µL = 10-12 mol/10-6 L = 10-6 mol/L = µmol/L = µM

500 pmols/µl = 500 µM
