Title: kinetic isotopic effect??
Post by: myii on May 20, 2021, 05:43:58 PM
Hi

Wondering how to use kinetic isotopic effects when deciding whether a compound is an intermediate or not?

I was wondering to use deuterium labelling but I don't know

Thanks

An intermediate is something that exists for a short period of time, such as a radical, a carbanion, or a carbocation.  The word "compound" usually refers to something that is less transient.  Your question is too broad to answer easily.  It might be better to look this question in the context of a particular reaction.
