Blank Tests

Hi all,
Is it true that the blank tests used to mitigate the errors that can cause from chemicals, distilled water .
So my questions is that Is it true that we need to carry out Blank tests for all analytical tests ?

For the most part yes with the exception of solids measurements, pH and (obviously) temp. You could of coarse run blanks on solids (TSS, SS, TS, etc.) but it is not typically done.

Also, laboratory Control Standards (LCS) are a must. These are second source standards that are run in parallel with the samples. Also, you should run matrix spikes and duplicates. Consider also running standards near the reporting limit.
