Title: Chemistry
Post by: toxique on December 07, 2004, 04:24:49 PM
Hi brothers, i am new to this superb forum.

Sorry if this question is pretty silly or this is not the correct area for this post.

I am about to start a career, but do not know yet whether it should be electronics or chemistry. the former has to do more with my current job, the latter looks by far more interesting! here are some questions:

- why should I chose chem ? what is the reason YOU think chemistry is so cool and interesting?
- what topic of chem could be most related to electronics and stuff?
- is it necessary to be really skilled in math and physics?
- what is the most interesting area of chemistry? e.g. analytical chem, physical chem, materials, etc.

Any help or advice is really appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Aspects of physical chemistry have huge electronic components. gregpawin, a member of the forums, had to build a scanning tunneling microscope from scratch as a freshman, that was a very complicated electronic feat.

most of analytical instruement are electronic control, so the technician should know how to repair.

I think the materials is the interesting area because a new things can be developed.
