Title: Calculating moment of inertia from MW spectrum transition?
Post by: AussieKenDoll on October 17, 2019, 02:51:18 PM
The first transition in the microwave spectrum of CO appears at 3.84 cm^-1
How to calculate the moment of inertia and the bond length of CO molecule? (C=12 , 0=16)

Do you have an opinion about the movement associated with this transition? Say, the states of lower and higher energy?

Why is it quantized?

Once you know the moment of inertia, it relates with masses and lengths.
