I was asked to synthesize hydroxylamine sulphate as a final year project but limitations in availability of raw materials has proved the task difficult. After performing atom and process economy, the best process was the catalytic hydrogenation of nitroalkanes but i cant get platinum catalyst to use and the raschig process has an atom economy of 0.3 so it would be hard defending my justification. Does anyone know another way of doing this, one that has reasonable documentation so i don't walk around in the dark? I would really appreciate this. Thanks
