I am a university student of Year 2 and I have met some problem when meeting these concept.(In fact I find it in the March's Advanced Organic Chemistry'. I search some articles and they says that the extra stabilization energy of these 'push and pull' effect is doubtful and may not true. But I still see some recent articles using this concept. So can anybody help me to solve the problem.
