Nickel Catalyst Experiment
« on: November 29, 2005, 08:42:08 PM »
How can I prove nickel to be a catalyst in a fuel cell using a pretty simple experiment?
Pierre.

recover the nickel.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

also a catalyst is supposed to speed up the process of breaking apart water molecules producing oxygen gas and hydrogen gas.  prove that the process is actually faster and more efficient then if done without a catalyst.

so have you tried nickel as the catalyst in the PEM fuel cell?  if so how did it work?
currently a student attending high school in South Florida, capital of all the hurricanes that come through the US, and the sunshine state.  My interests falls into electrochemistry going to renewable resources of energy, i like hydrogen fuel cells and solar energy
