Title: Double-checking reaction
Post by: Lt.Pliskin on October 09, 2005, 12:32:56 PM
The reaction is between sodium Hypochlorite and Sodium Thiosulfate. I came up with the net ionic equation:

2S2O32-  +  ClO-  +  H2O  -->  S4O62-  +  Cl-  +  2OH-

Is this equation correct?

if it's in basic environment (which it is) then the reaction is correct.

alright, so the fatio of the reactants is 2:1?
