this is the format

#from table/ 1000mL = x/ your volume

this is what I did

 1.20g  =     x               1.2 g/mL = 265 mL/x
1000mL    265mL

 ???

No idea what you are asking about - perhaps how to solve ratios? If so, see the very bottom of this page:

Um..I'm not sure if it is ratios, but the question asks to calculate the actual mass and I think it goes like this: (1.00 )(x) = (1.20g)(.2650L)     x = (1.20g)(.2650L)
But what happens to the grams and liters? Do you just multiply?

If you are finding x such that 1.2/1000=x/265 (which I think you are) you are dealing with ratios.

But what happens to the grams and liters? Do you just multiply?

What are the units that go with 1.00 in your eqn?
