Title: Iodine Desorption Activated Carbon
Post by: Mr. Raru on November 14, 2008, 11:43:11 PM
Hi,

I am running an experiment at home using activated charcoal to adsorb iodine. I was wondering if there was a way to desorp the iodine from the carbon back into water?

Thanks

Hi Mr. Raru,

Great question!

I have run this test many times, and have had the opportunity to try and desorb iodine from activated carbon. Unfortunately, this appears to be a destructive test (as I have not been able to desorb iodine).

Sorry, it seems like a one-way destructive test.

Sincerely,

Eugene
