  Which is the machanism of oxydation of formiate ion by peroxydisulphate in aqueous solution, given that the rate law is r= k[formiate]^1/2 [peroxydisulphate] ??? . Sulphate ions are formed in solution and carbon dioxide is evolved.

   Hello! 3. Oxidation of formate ion by peroxydisulfate in water solution
HCOO– + S2O82– = CO2 + 2SO42– + H+
r = k[HCOO–]1/2[S2O82–]
Which is the mechanism of this reaction? I have thought of two plausible ones, which imply the existance of a hydride intermediar, but I couldn't mathematically obtain the fractionar reaction order..
