conversion of d-glucose to d-fructose mechanism help
« on: April 26, 2011, 06:55:14 PM »
The problem is:  d-glucose + H3O+   ::equil:: d-fructose

I figured that it would start with the acid catalyzed keto-enol tautomerism, but i'm confused as to what will happen once the enol is formed?

What does the enol look like? Once you're there, it should be pretty obvious.
