Aluminum Solution
« on: July 31, 2008, 02:45:48 PM »
Hi, I'm trying to get wood to burn green.  To do this I want to make a copper solution (since copper burns green) and then let the wood soak in the solution.  In theroy, the wood should then burn green right?  Anyway, i'm having trouble making a copper solution.  I tried cutting the copper up into very tiny pieces and then placing them in water....that did not work.  I would appriciate any suggestions, or comments regarding this.  Thanks  :)

copper doesn't burn green.  copper salts do.  and it looks like copper salts actually burn blue.  try barium salts.
