Question About Phenolphthalein !

hello everybody !
Our chemistry teacher ask us this question ;
- Why we mix Phenolphthalein with Ethylic alcohol and we don't mix it with water ?
Any one know any information about this qestion please answer me !

Have you looked at the structure of phenolphthalein?  If you have, how would you describe its polarity?
