Title: Cao and Ca(OH)2
Post by: dastgir on April 21, 2009, 10:59:34 AM
Dear,

In cement clinker we determine % CaO by ethylene glycol method i.e. extract it with ethylene glycol
and then titrate it with 0.1N HCl.

The problem is that after absorbing moisture CaO converts into Ca(OH)2 and now by this method,
both CaO and Ca(OH)2 are extracted into the solution and titration gives %CaO + % Ca(OH)2.

Is there any method so that only CaO can be determined in this moistened clinker.

Regards,
