Title: Question on the synthesis of ylides please help

The pKa of methyltriphenylphosphonium bromide is 30. Could you generate an ylid from this salt using sodium methoxide as base? give a reason for your answer.

Iv'e read loads about ylids but just cant get it please help thanks.

What about pKa of methanol? Look for it, and after all compare it with pKa of methyltriphenylphosphonium bromide.
