Title: Switching from bioengineering to chemistry
Post by: skekgkdms on August 30, 2017, 03:44:18 AM
Hi, I am currently applying to PhD programs in chemistry though I am a bioengineering major as an undergrad.
I do have a set of research experiences(including an experience in a chemistry lab) that led to the interest in the field, but I am afraid if it's not persuasive to admission committee for an engineering student to pursue a research career in chemistry. I couldn't switch the undergrad major or do double major because of certain circumstances, though, I am minoring in chemistry. Hoping to hear from y'all out there. Thanks.

You'll be fine, as long as you have the pre-requisite course load for whatever chemistry programs you're applying to. With a chemistry minor, you probably have most of them.
