Mass Spectroscopy - which electron gets kicked off?
« on: July 28, 2008, 04:31:52 AM »
During electron bombardment, what sort of electrons of a molecule (e.g. bonding, non-bonding, electronic environment) are more likely than others to get kicked off? Thanks!

The most likely electrons to be kicked off are those in valence molecular orbitals, nonbonding or bonding dependig on the molecule.
