Lead convertion
(1/1)
thodge10:
Hi Again Folks
Does anyone know if you can convert lead carbonate to lead sulphate and how?
Cheers Tim
AWK:
It depends on purity of solid lead carbonate, but always is better to get solution before precypitation, so dissolve PbCO3 in HNO3, then (eventually after filtration) add H2SO4.
Donaldson Tan:
Direct reaction with Lead(II) Carbonate with Sulphuric Acid will result in Lead(II) Sulphate formed will form a coat on the uncreacted Lead(II) Carbonate, thus preventing furthur reaction.
