Title: Alcohols nomenclature

What is the name of the alcohol using the official IUPAC nomenclature?
What about the Hydrocarbon formed?

H3C--CH2--CH--CH2       ------->  hydrocarbon + H20
                      |        |
                     H      OH

Official IUPAC nomenclature is a set rules - have you read them? Have you tried to apply them? Where did you get stuck in the process and why?

At least give your thoughts.  What kind of reaction is done to create the hydrocarbon?
