Biochemistry, Berg, Tymoczko & Stryer
Lehninger: Principles of Biochemistry, Nelson & Cox
Biochemistry: The Chemical Reactions of Living Cells, Metzler

Abeles, Frey, and Jencks (Jones and Bartlett).  It is out of date, but the presentation of topics and style are unusual.

I cant imagine studying from blogs being sufficient for university courses
