hi im new to the forum
can anyone help me explain the mechanism of this reaction involving 1-ethynylcyclopentanol
where i think via a trans electrophillic addition reaction the acetylide group is changed to a diene
-
ive got a image for the reaction but cant seem to atach it to the post

But 1-ethynylcyclopentanol ist this, without CH3-group

and you will 1-octa-1,3-dien-1-ylcyclopentanol ??

It's a cuprate addition to the alkyne, I'd bet.
