take bakers yeast and add sugar and water, you should get ethanol and some other smelly stuff.

Fertilzation?  Sounds like some crazy experiments with animal/body fluids man.  Fermentation right?

I heard to make sourdough, you can make your own "wild yeast" by having a few cups of flour and water covered with a cloth sit around your house all day.... then you'd get the kind of yeast to get that particular flavor.

Maybe check out this link:

www.coopers.com.au

Coopers makes the best beer in the world (no seriously I am not just saying this because I like it :D :D, yeah right ;))

They have a home brew section which definetly pertains to turning sugar into ethanol by fermentation (not fertilization sorry ;))
