general question
« on: April 12, 2008, 02:58:24 AM »
Hi all,

The other day, I had kept curds in a silver vessel for a while. Then I emptied the vessel but did not wash it so that there was still some curds sticking to its sides. The next morning when I went to wash it, I found mossy green stuff on the sides of the vessel, like wherever the curds had been sticking. Can somebody explain to me what might have happened?

It's probably bacteria, maybe lactobacillus.

Or mold, they usually look "mossy" or fuzzy, furry or fibrous, bacteria often look like a flat stain.  The "silver" bowl really doesn't enter into the discussion chemically.  Everyone should just know to wash and dry things promptly to keep them clean.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.
