Separating molecules in PyMOL
« on: January 10, 2015, 08:18:50 PM »
This probably a simple question but I'm still new to this software. I have a molecule that I essentially need to cut in half so I can insert another molecule in between the halves.

I've been toying with this for a number of hours and I'm still trying to get the molecule separated. I tried using unbound to separate the two halves but I'm wondering if there are other/better ways to do this? Later I think I'll need to use a pair fit to get the new molecule in between the two halves. Is that a correct assumption or is there something else I should do?

Okay I think I managed to separate the molecules but now I'm having some trouble inserting the molecule in between the 2 halves. Am I still able to use a pair fit when it involves large molecules?
