Title: Mass spectroscopy problem-please *delete me*

Hi everyone,

hopefully someone will know something about this.... I've got an assignment due where I have to identify what this substance is, but haven't been able to put my finger on it! There are peaks at 101 and 102, so i'm not sure which one is the molecular ion. Also, peaks at 73, 59, 55, 31.

59 could be C3H6OH or CH2OC2H5 from tables (not sure!)

31 could be CH2OH but again not sure.

I thought it could have been C5O2H10, but searched the NIST database and none of the data matched.

Hopefully someone will know what to do or point me on the right path!

Do you know anything about the natural proportion between 12C and 13C and what that might tell you about what to expect from your spectrum?
