Title: Need help with complex reactions!
Post by: yazan1986 on December 21, 2008, 04:12:52 PM
Hello guys!
I have always found it hard to predict and memorize complex chemical reactions ???.
Can any one suggest a book that really makes complex chemical reactions understandable and doable?

Give an example of a complex chemical reaction.

An example of complex chemical reaction is:
CO2 +H2O   :rarrow:    CH2O + O2

An example of complex chemical reaction is:
CO2 +H2O   :rarrow:    CH2O + O2

That isn't a normal balanced equation, so it's hard for you to wrap your mind around, it's the generic biochem shorthand formula, CH2O, for carbohydrate, either fructose, or it's isomer glucose, or glucose's polymers -- gycogen, starch, and cellulose.  You just stick numbers in depending on what the product is.

Hi
First try to understand a reaction. You know reactions are categorized into different category -like redox,acid-base,combustion etc.Try to understand what is happening in that reaction and then memorize it by practice . :)
