Title: Acetone sucks in PET bottle
Post by: mowsala on November 19, 2009, 04:57:46 PM
Hi all,
I quite recently bought a bottle of acetone, but punctured the LDPE bottle it came in while unwrapping it. So I transferred it to a clear PET bottle, and now I find that whenever I do it up tightly, within a few days all the air has gone and the bottle sucked in, without shaking it. Has the air dissolved in it or what?

You need to get it out of that bottle and into one that's chemically compatible with acetone. Eventually, the PET bottle will crack and you will ahve a mess to clean up.

Acetone is easy to volatile!
