U-tube Manometer

1300 gm of sample  oxygen consumption on Tube water column Manometer is 70 ml at 740 mm Hg pressure at 20 OC . Then how much Oxygen in the sample.?

Help me on this.

Dear Sir  Borek/ Billno....

As a forums rule i try to solve .
PV=nRT
P=740/760=0.974 atm
V=100/1000= 0.1 L
n=?
R=0.080205 L/atm/mole
T=273+20=293
n=241 moles

If  up to this i am correct then help me to calculate oxygen %  in 1300 gm of of sample

Check your math, answer is not 241 moles. Volume is not 100 mL.

Once you have moles correct, convert them to oxygen mass.

That's assuming I understand what you ask about...

Bill: technically speaking 70 mL is already a volume (but I see where your doubt comes from).
