Oxidation-Reduction Reactions Balancing

How do I balance the following Oxidation-Reduction Reaction?:



As you can see, I tried to solve the problem but I don't know where I failed at.

You started OK, correctly assigning ON (or at least most of them, picture and writing are not clear in some places) and recognizing both half reactions, but you failed at balancing them.

Reduction - how many electrons?

Oxidation - what about hydrogen?

I thought we should also consider whether the reaction takes in acidic or basic situations? Doesn't it matters whether we should add OH- or H+ depending on acidic or basic?

Yes, but when conditions are not given you are allowed some creativity ;)

To some extent it doesn't matter - when the reaction is balanced for acidic (basic) conditions, it is always just a matter of a relatively simple manipulation (add/subtract water/hydrogen/hydroxide to both sides) to convert from one form to another.
