Title: A very basic question

Hello, if my HCl bottle shows that it's 28-36% concentration, that kinda makes the calculations imprecise for how many grams of solution I need. What do you recommend? Should I just take the average 32% for my calculations?

It never happened to me, but can't you determinate the exactly known concentration of the acid in your laboratory?

I'm not sure it's correct to take the average percentage...

How do I determine the correct exact concentration? C=m/V? That wouldnt work for me because my HCl is store-bought, from a hardware store :/ what do you do in that case? Any other ideas?

Consult http://www.titrations.info - that's what chemists do to determine concentration in such cases.
