Hello everyone! My wife bought me a beautiful crystal decanter for our anniversary. Per the Waterford instructions, I treated the vessel with 50/50 vinegar/water for 24 hours. I then washed it out, dried it, then added a 16 year old bottle of Lagavulin.
Question: If the lead crystal 'leaches' lead into the alcohol, won't the mass of the lead particles cause them to settle on the bottom, and not come out into the glass with a smooth slanted poor?

Highly doubtful. Such a separation requires rather specific combination of the dissolution speed and solution density differences, my feeling is that the lead doesn't leach from the crystal fast enough for such effect to be observed..
Note: in solutions solute is never in a form of "particles", that would be a suspension.

He said no. Lead salts in solution aren't "heavy" like a lead fishing weight, but are kept mixed by molecular motion. Even so, you've probably done a good enough job of removing what is easily extractable from the glass.

From what I read
It is best not to leave the ethanol beverage in the decanter for a long period of time.
Also from readings
Young children should not drink beverages from lead crystal containers.
