Oxidation and reduction reactions for iron rusting

(1/1)

bohojekek:
Attached below is my working to find the oxidation and reduction reactions of iron rusting. I wanted to double check if the final reduction and oxidation reactions are correct.

Is it appropriate for me to just remove spectator ions? When I combine the reduction and oxidation reaction does it need to give me exactly the original overall equation I started with?

Hunter2:
Oxidation state of iron is not + 4, its +3.
And Symbol is Fe not Fe
Rust is more or less Fe2O3 and FeOOH
