Salt dissociation
« on: August 15, 2015, 12:32:09 PM »
Hello!
This might be a rather foolish question and I think I've been staring at it for too long that it looks kinda weird.
I was reading on dissociation (specifically hydration) and I didn't really understand it. I watched a few videos and read my book but it still puzzles me. So I understand that in the classic example, the water is attracted to the NaCl crystal because of the charges but what is making the water actually pull apart the crystal?
