We found this in the lab and have no idea what it's used for. Does anyone know what it is and what it's used for?
Furthermore, I'm not sure if I should be posting this here or in another category, please enlighten me:)

Looks like a glass condenser. Link: https://www.google.com/search?q=glass+condenser

Its for reflux, or distillation.

It is a condenser reflex and is used to condense vapors in distillation processes or fractional distillation

Thank you for your replies. I was hoping for a more definitive answer. I'm starting to believe that this a bespoked piece of kit. I've gathered it's some sort of condenser. It's baffling that there are no ground glass joints and only connectors for tubes.
I've added more pics. The coils have a tube connector at one end and drain into the inner tube at the head of the unit. The other other two tube connectors are connected to the jacket of the unit.
Edit: There is also a second coil under the outer one.

I have no idea what it is. There are five openings which is a little unusual. The hose connections makes me think water was the coolant, but that is only a guess. I cannot see the path, but it looks as though the center barb inlets to nearly three lengths. This is what I am thinking. It is designed to first cool a hot effluent gas. This is the purpose of the long path. I can see it exits at what looks like a cold finger. I'm guessing a cold finger is inserted and condenses the gas there. I'm guessing a septum is there to extract the sample. However, I've never seen anything like this before.

It reminds me of a rotovap condenser, but I may be wrong, since I'm just an undergrad and used them just a few times.
