R&D Engineer to Product or Quality Engineer
« on: May 30, 2013, 12:49:08 AM »
Hello,

I am a new member to this forum. I have been working as a R&D Chemical Engineer for the last 3-4 years now. While working i got interested in the areas of a Product Engineer and a Quality engineer. I am looking to move into these fields but am not sure how i should go about it. Are there specializations i should arm myself with? Any particular aspect i should know of? Is it easy to shift from R&D to being onsite in the plant? Any kind of help and guidance will be much appreciated.

Product Engineers may not always work in Plants. So also Quality Engineers.

Are you sure you want to be that and not a Plant Operations engineer?

Thanks for the reply. No i am not looking for a Plant Operations Engineering position. I am looking for a Techno-Commercial position. Something like a liaison between the R&D and Market .

You won't be " onsite in the plant" then.
