Title: Elodea Plant Question?
Post by: carlson55 on June 10, 2008, 08:08:50 PM
If someone could give me a hand on this would appreciate it

A Elodea plant, commonly found in any tropical fish aquarium was found to produce 5x10 to the 22 molecules of oxygen gas(O2) per hour. What volume of oxygen gas at STP, would be produced in one hour?

Please read the Forum Rules (http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php?page=forumrules).  You should that show you've at least attempted to answer the problem before we will help you.

Start by calculating the number of moles of O2 gas produced per hour.  Do you know how much volume 1 mole of gas occupies at STP?  (if not, you should look it up in your chemistry text book)

1x 10(24) liters O2(g) at STP
sigfigs--> instead of 1.12x10(24
