what is Fehling's reagent & Tollen's reagent ?

and then what is the results of methanal , ethanal , benzaldehyde , propanone on reacting with  Fehling's reagent & Tollen's reagent ?

one can oxidise aldehyde and ketone.

the other can only oxidise aldehyde.

they can be used to differentiate aldehyde from ketone and vice versa

they don't oxidise ketones. you'd have to split up the carbon chain

the differentiation is between aromatic aldehyde and aliphatic aldehyde

fehling can only do aliphatic, tollens both
