Small hydrogen tank
« on: January 29, 2010, 12:07:34 PM »
Hello everyone, me and a few classmates are working on a project to make a small car ( shoe box size) run with a hydrogen fuel cell but we need a small hydrogen tank that can go on the car. We know these exist we have seen them on other peoples cars but we just don't know where to get them.  We had one that was small and seemed to be unfillable it was a metal hydride tank but that's gone now( another story) anyway any ideas would be helpful thankS!

You have a couple of options here.  First, you could try buying it through Aldrich, whom I'm sure sells lecture bottles of hydrogen (little tanks), but you'd have to buy a regulator as well.

Secondly, I'd go to your local welding supply store and see if they can help you out.  That's where I've gone when I've needed various gasses in the past.

Where can I find "Aldrich's" website I can't seem to find them?

EDIT:  I found Aldrich, I can't seem to find it anywhere and I don't really want to wait for the vendor to get back to me are lecture bottles refillable if I have a regulator or do they come prefilled?
