Title: help me!!! [Hydrogenation kinetics]
Post by: flash9x on October 23, 2014, 12:42:24 PM
Hydrogenation of Ethane(heterogeneous catalyst). Here we assume that the hydrogenation of C2H6 to CH4 goes through the mechanism:
(1) C2H6 + 2*  :resonance: C2H5 * + H *
(2) C2H5* + H *  :rarrow: 2CH3*
(3) CH3 * + H * :resonance: CH4 + 2*
(4) H2 + 2*  :resonance: 2H*
Where step 2 is rate limiting and steps 1, 3, and 4 are in quasi equilibrium write an equation for the rate of step 2.

You must show you have attempted the question, this is a Forum Rule (http://www.chemicalforums.com/index.php?topic=65859.0).

The rules also state that you should give your thread a title that is indicative of it's content, not "help me!!!". I have done that for you this time.
