I'm looking for the chemical used to make glue purple that dries clear

I need to find a chemical that will turn a liquid blue or purple that, upon drying will become clear.  I know that Elmer's glue sticks go on purple and then dry clear so something with those properties is what I'm looking for.  Any help would be helpful.  Thanks
