how to make Nickel II Hydroxide

Hi,

How can I make Nickel II Hydroxide Ni(OH)2 on the surface of nickel wire?

just wondering about it.

If you place Nickel into water, it will react with it, forming a hydrated mono-layer similar to Nickel Hydroxide. If you keep it longer, the natural corrosion will build layers of NiO/Ni(OH)2

just be careful to keep the pH of the water neutral or higher, as acid will dissolve the nickel (hydroxy)oxides
