Does the color of plastic change the weight?
« on: July 07, 2010, 10:06:19 PM »
The weight of dice

This question has come up on our craps playing forum many times.

1.   If all the dice are the same size, does the color of the dice make them weigh differently?
2.   Does the density change because the dice are a different color?
3.   Would the dice bounce differently because they are a different color?

All three of these question I say should be answered the same way!  “No”

I have weighed the dice and all colors weigh the same. I have been trying to prove this for a long time and I still get players that say the color makes a difference.

Any help proving or disproving this would be appreciated!

The color concentration is extremely low.  Any weight difference would probably require a very preicise scale to measure.

I would expect more differences to occur from worn felt on the tables.

I do find I have worse luck with green dice
